This is an honors-level course. Step into the Health Science Foundations course and learn what it takes to be a healthcare professional. This course is designed to provide the student with in-depth knowledge of the health care system and introduce them to various occupations in the field. Students will explore the educational requirements, licenses, and certifications for careers at multiple levels within the healthcare system. The learning focuses on communication and interpersonal skills, the use of technology, ethics, and the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students will also learn first aid skills and how to assess vital signs. Health Science Foundations is part of the Secondary Health Core.
